UAE suspends flights arriving and departing from four countries

The General Authority of Civil Aviation announced that all incoming and outgoing flights to:

Lebanon
Turkey
Syria
Iraq

They will be suspended from March 17 2020 until further notice, in response to precautionary and preventive health and proactive measures, for all concerned parties at the national and local levels, andto prevent the spread of the the Coronavirus emerging as Covid-19 from prevalence in the country.

The authorities said in a statement issued today that the decision to suspend flights came after studying and evaluating the global situation and its spread to most countries of the world, including Italy, as there is continuous coordination and cooperation with all concerned parties inside and outside the country to monitor developments of the situation to maintain the security and safety of civil aviation.

The concerned authorities, under the umbrella of the National Emergency and Crisis Authority, follow up on the global conditions to take the best appropriate decisions that ensure the continuity of the work system within the country and reduce the risk of disease spread.

The Civil Aviation Authority called on all travelers affected by the decision to follow-up and communicate with the airlines associated with them to amend and schedule their flights and ensure their safe return to their final destinations without any delay or other obligations.
