MOHAP: Quarantine does not mean complete isolation... Doctors monitor the cases

Ministry of Health and Prevention affirmed that the people who completed the period of quarantine or isolation do not represent any health threat to others, after it is ascertained that they are free of the disease, noting that quarantine does not mean complete isolation, but it is intended to restrict individuals movement voluntarily.

In an awareness leaflet on the difference between isolation and quarantine, the ministry said that the authorities apply the isolation and quarantine strategy, to care for injured and contacted people and to protect normal people, noting that there is a difference between isolation and quarantine, where health isolation is a measure taken to isolate patients who have been confirmed infected for healthy people, so that they can recover without causing the infection to pass to others, while quarantine is a measure to restrict the movement of people who have had contact with infected people, to make sure they are not infected.

The Ministry affirmed that health care officials are responsible for choosing the best place to reside for persons subject to quarantine, whether staying in a hospital, home or in a private facility, stressing that quarantine does not mean complete isolation, but is intended to restrict the movement of individuals voluntarily, where it occurs Individuals have everything that they want from food and personal purposes, and family and friends assist them in accomplishing daily tasks, while observing preventive measures to prevent the spread of infection, as doctors monitor their health condition, pointing out that the positive aspect in this matter is that they will have enough time for meditation and reading, watch movies and practice their hobbies.

It also stressed that the UAE is a pioneer in activating an integrated and reassuring system to deal with developments in the health situation, including the strict preventive measures taken by the state in securing its outlets, and providing early examination for those coming to the state through thermal detectors, noting that the Ministry in cooperation with the National Crisis, Emergency and Disaster Management Authority, and the authorities Concerned with the country, makes every effort to implement all preventive precautions to reduce the spread of this virus.

Ministry also said that the UAE has a proactive in identifying the existing risks and put all preventive and precautionary measures in order to ensure that the virus does not spread and preserve society and its health, noting that the universality of measures and their intensification in some aspects are aimed at prevention and precaution.

It indicated that she is constantly monitoring all developments around the world about the spread of the Corona virus, and intends to take appropriate measures regarding citizens' patients who are outside the country for various purposes based on the health situation data of the countries in which they are located.

Contact with respiratory droplets

The World Health Organization confirmed that the studies conducted indicate that the virus that causes Covid-19 disease is transmitted primarily through contact with respiratory droplets rather than through the air, noting that the main method of transmission of the disease is the respiratory droplets secreted by a person when coughing. The risk of Covid-19 disease is diminished by someone asymptomatic.
