The US dollar jumps to its highest level in 3 years due to Coronavirus

The US dollar rised on Wednesday, hitting its highest level in several years, against a few major currencies, while the spread of the Coronavirus caused companies and investors to seek safety in the green currency.

The dollar index, which tracks the performance of the greenback versus a basket of six major currencies, jumped 2.051 percent to 101.440, its highest level since April 2017.

The dollar index is headed for its biggest one-day jump since the twenty-fourth of June 2016.
