The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia recorded, on Sunday, an unprecedented sharp rise in confirmed cases of the emerging Corunavirus, the number increased during the past 24 hours by 1552 cases.

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Mohammed Al-Abd Al-Aali, stated during a press conference that 1552 new confirmed infections with the Coronavirus 'COVID-19' had been found during the past 24 hours, taking the total number of infected to 27,011 people.

Al-Abd Al-Aali pointed out that 16% of the new cases were recorded were females and 84% are males.

Today’s rate is a new record for the daily rise in infections in Saudi Arabia, after the index reached in the statistic of April 29 1325, and on April 30 it reached 1351, on May 1st 1344, and on May 2nd 1362 cases.


Al-Abd Al-Aali mentioned that 22,693 of the recorded cases are active, of which 139 are critical.

The health official reported recording 8 new deaths due to the disease, after this rate was at the level of 7 cases in the statistics of May 1 and 2, bringing the number of corona virus victims in the kingdom to 184 dead.

Al-Abd Al-Aali also announced that they recorded 369 recoveries, bringing the total number of people recovering from the virus to 4,134 people.
